Most herbs and spices in our kitchen cabinet somewhere and they often randomly get add to recipes and culinary creations. Interestingly, there are many health benefits of herbs and spices, not to mention they improve the taste of many foods! The problem is, he may sit on the shelf for most grocery store herbs and spices for a long time, and so don't have much nutritional value left. I highly recommend growing them yourself whenever possible, but if you can't always buy high quality organic ones.

Health Benefits of Herbs and Spices

All spice originates from plants: flowers, fruits, seeds, bark, leaves and roots. Herbs and spices not only enhance the taste of foods, but it can help save for longer periods of time. Cinnamon





Most people have a cinnamon around the House, but usually there for a few years! Cinnamon was the highest antioxidants of any spice. It has been shown to reduce inflammation, low blood sugar and triglyceride levels in the blood. Cinnamon is also used to relieve nausea and increased sensitivity to insulin and helps burn fat. This provides manganese, iron and calcium. It's antimicrobial properties can help to prolong the life of foods.

To spark the flavor, add to egg dishes, soups, meat dishes, sauces and baked foods.

Garlic

Most households had garlic around in one form or another. Fresh pink is always best, but dried forms and chopped and excellent flavor granules. It also increases the tolerance of spicy flavor, you can increase the amount you added too.

Mint

Most wonderful herb used in many parts of the world, but is not common here, it is Mint. It has been used traditionally to soothe celiac and relieve nausea. Many people enjoy tea made with mint leaves or Spearmint, volatile oils in both had been used in toothpaste and breath fresheners and chewing gum. Externally, the oil or tea can be used to repel mosquitoes. This herb is easier to consume in the form of drinks, although Cook adventure and can be added to meat dishes or recipes dessert. Herbs such as lemon balm and thyme and Marjoram technically belongs to the Mint family, but because of the pungent flavor, usually alone.

Oregano

Oregano common ingredient in Italian and Greek cuisine, and they have the right idea! Oregano (and it's milder cousin, marjoram) is antiviral, bacteria, cancer and antibiotics. They are extremely high in antioxidants and anti-microbial properties have demonstrated against food-borne pathogens such as Listeria. The oil is used in medical leaves to treat coughs and fevers, sore, aching body and disease. Along with Basil and garlic, marjoram, thyme and Rosemary, it creates a strong antiviral, antibacterial and antimicrobial and cancer fighting spice mix. It can also be sprinkled on any kind of salty foods. It will help a few teaspoons added to cure soup.

Cumin




The second most used herb in the world after black pepper, cumin provides a distinct taste and wish. It is used most often in the United States in the Mexican or Spanish dishes and spicy tacos or chili. I recommend just buying wholesale and use with chili powder to season dishes. This will provide better flavor and save money. Plus, have you ever read the ingredients in those packets a little seasoning? Hi GS! Cumin has anti-microbial properties and has been used to reduce flatulence. It's a wonderful curry powder or Mexican dishes flavor or the Middle East.

Curry powder

Most spice mix that is not commonly used in the United States but had tasted it in Thai dishes. It can have a variety of ingredients, but often contains turmeric and coriander, cumin, cinnamon, mustard powder, Cayenne, ginger, garlic, nutmeg, fenugreek and a variety of pepper. All these components have a dizzying array of useful features. Curry is an acquired taste, but can be added to meat, stir frys, soups and stews.

Rosemary

If you have this Rosemary, it's probably a lamb dish, but its much more versatile. High concentrations of antioxidant carnosol research shows it may have benefits in cancer treatment and healthy digestion and use cholesterol. Thyme

Boiling water with thyme can be used in homemade spray cleaners and or can be added to bathwater to treat the wounded.
